About Me

My Names is Saljoq Khurshid i'm a 20 year old "gym rat" currently studying Business Technology Management at Ryerson University.

Fitness changed my life, and it can change yours too. Implementing a fitness oriented lifestyle doesn't just make you physically healthy, it also makes you MENTALLY stronger as well. Since the first day I stepped into the gym I've lost 83 pounds (258lbs-175lbs), do you think it's even possible for someone to improve their physical body to that extent without first improving their MIND?

I always tell people, for me a persons physical body is a manifestation of their mental mind set. People who are mentally strong and healthy are usually in good shape. A lot of people who are lazy and unmotivated or have low self-esteem problems tend to be out of shape, or eventually get there.

For me, exercising is NOT just about building muscle or burning fat and getting into better shape. For me it's an opportunity to set goals that I am not currently able to do and working relentlessly until I achieve them.

If you have a specific goal, say you want to bench press 135 pounds but you're not able to do it just yet. If you work HARD and SMART day-in day-out and with the right nutrition and exercise you will eventually be able to lift that weight. But then what? Are you done? Of course not! Then you set a HIGHER goal and work towards that! And just like that it should be a never ending, non stop cycle of improvement and development.

Fitness is not a race, it's a marathon with no finish line. Instead of a finish line you just have a sequence of pylons that you try to pass and once you pass one, who you head for the next pylon.

And just like that, you continue to strive for improvement, developing both your physical body and your mind.

I promise you, being successful inside the gym WILL also translate to success OUTSIDE the gym in your daily life.

Why is that?

Because the rules that apply to getting into shape inside the gym, also apply to being successful in life.
Developing a DESIRE to improve yourself and reach a goal. Believing that you are CAPABLE of achieving that goal. Becoming DEDICATED to living a positive lifestyle and PERSEVERING through any obsticle life throws at you. Setting Goals, achieving them, and then raising the bar again. Never stopping to improve, always becoming a better version of YOURSELF.

You'll find that if you apply the same principles to becoming successful in the gym, to everyday life, your lifestyle will improve just like your body does in the gym. I find if you have a POSITIVE mind, POSITIVE thingS WILL be attracted to you, and success WILL chase you.

So when people tell me I'm addicted to the gym, I tell them no I'm not addicted to the gym, I'm addicted to IMPROVING and constantly EVOLVING.

Hopefully by now you have a better understanding as to why fitness is such an essential part to my life. It changed my life, and it CAN change yours too.
